A Giving Spirit
Giving begins with the acknowledgement of God's abundance in our lives.  As we recognize how we have been blessed in so many ways, we respond with generosity.  When we realize that all we have has been entrusted to us by a loving God, our hearts are moved to share.  The traditional standard has been the tithe.  From ancient times, human beings have understood that a portion of their crops, income, prosperity—all that they have realized—belongs to God.  In the Bible, this has been described as a tenth.  Many Christians still practice the discipline of setting aside a portion of their income and their blessings to return to the service of God's kingdom.  As Episcopalians, we believe that the beginning of returning to the tithe starts with proportional giving.  Stewardship and giving are worthy challenges for Christian people to assume.  Giving can take a variety of forms.

Annual Giving supports the operating funds of this parish church.  Members are asked to make an annual pledge to the ongoing life and work of the Church of the Ascension.  Our parish's annual budget is dependent upon the proportional giving of our parishioners.
