In the early 1980's, the Church of the Ascension established a Memorial Garden adjacent to the north side of its historic sanctuary. Though its primary purpose is to serve as a place for the interment of ashes within the grounds of the church, it is also a beautiful and quiet setting for reflection and prayer that is enjoyed by many people in the Sierra Madre community. For those wishing to have ashes interred, the church is available to perform the full burial office according to the Book of Common Prayer , or a short and simple Committal may be performed at the site of interment.
