As Christians in both the catholic and reformed traditions, Episcopalians believe that all baptized people possess unique spiritual gifts that equip them for various ministries which build up the Church and make God in Christ known in the world. A local parish church such as Ascension thrives when more and more of its members employ these gifts in the service of God.
