Formation

Development in Christian faith and practice is a lifelong process. We are always moving toward becoming the person God calls us to be. Formation is therefore for all ages; it takes place chiefly through education, study, worship, and prayer but is also found through our mutual support of one another.

Sunday Morning Educational Offerings:
  • Adult Small Groups meet from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Sundays.  They are lay-led gatherings with varying emphases, including Bible study,  examination of a topic, prayer, fellowship, and support.

Additional Offerings:
  • The Rector’s Forum meets every Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the Rector’s office to discuss a book or topic of current interest.
  • Daughters of the King is Ascension's group of this nationwide order of women in the Episcopal Church who meet regularly for prayer and to plan various forms of service.
  • Education for Ministry (EfM) is a four-year adult education course that, through a seminar format including study, prayer, and reflection, prepares individuals for the Christian ministry to which we are each called at baptism.  Curriculum spans the Old and New Testaments, church history, and ethics and theology.
  • Cursillo is a program designed to help strengthen individuals on their spiritual journey within the Episcopal Church.
