Outreach

It is part of the mission of the Church in all places to work for the relief of the poor, the sick, and the powerless. Ascension reaches out to others in a number of ways, through financial support and volunteer efforts at these agencies.

• The Ecumenical Council of Pasadena Area Churches assists homeless and low income people through its oversight of the Pasadena Bad Weather Shelter program and the Friends In Deed House, which provides groceries and other services.   Monthly in-gatherings of food are important parts of Friends In Deed outreach.
  
• Episcopal Relief and Development is supported by Ascension's rector, Michael Bamberger, who serves congregations and institutions across the country as they work to recover from disasters. We also hold a periodic fundraiser for developing countries through ER&D.
